MOUNT VERNON — An evening of comedy and entertainment for the purpose of supporting a local charity is planned for Saturday when Knox Squares will pay another visit to Mount Vernon.
Produced in conjunction with Right Brain Productions and the Elixir Chautauqua series, Knox Squares is based on the famed television show Hollywood Squares starring Mount Vernon native Paul Lynde. Knox Squares will take on the same format as this television show and will feature local participants acting in the roles of Minnie Pearle, Groucho Marx, Orson Wells, Mama Cass and others. Contestants will be asked a series of trivia questions and will be awarded spots on a tic-tac-toe board based on correct answers. Serving as contestants in the game show will be Margaret Ann Ruhl, Sam Barone, Mark Ramser and Carol Grubaugh.
“We’ve done this several times in the past and always wanted to do it again,” said Right Brain Productions artistic director Joe Bell. “It has been received very well in the past. People have thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s just a great evening with a lot of fun.”
