MOUNT VERNON — The Knox County Commissioners on Monday proclaimed April to be Child Abuse Prevention Month and expressed support for Prevent Child Abuse Ohio’s campaign “Pinwheels for Prevention” by dedicating a display of 539 pinwheels to draw attention to the problem. The display demonstrates the prevalence and seriousness of child abuse and neglect in Knox County and each pinwheel represents a community member who voiced his or her concern and advocated for children here in 2012.
