GAMBIER — Organic daily farming has enabled his community to farm profitably and maintain the Amish rural lifestyle, an Amish bishop, farmer and writer from Holmes County told a large crowd at Kenyon College, Monday evening.
David Kline’s talk was the kickoff event in Kenyon’s “Rural by Design” week of lectures, performances and exhibits about rural life and how it can be sustained in the modern world.
Kenyon Rural Life Center Director Howard Sacks said Kline was asked to speak because he would be able to give a different perspective from the “more is better” so often promoted in modern society.
