MOUNT VERNON — Changes are on the horizon as a 68,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art athletic facility is being constructed to offer expanded athletic services and attract visitors at Mount Vernon Nazarene University. An Oct. 1 opening is planned for Ariel Arena on the MVNU campus.
Located at the southeast corner of the campus and attached to the Prince Student Union, the centerpiece of the facility will be a 2,000-seat gymnasium. With motorized, retractable bleachers on either end, the gym floor can be opened up for three full-size basketball courts to be in use at once. On the home side bleacher section will be 144 stadium-type seats with arm rests.
