MOUNT VERNON — Only 10 days remain for individuals to complete and file their federal, state and city income tax returns for 2012. The filing deadline for most individuals is Monday, April 15, although special rules may apply to farmers, military personnel, those outside the U.S. and those affected by a disaster.
Internal Revenue Service media relations specialist Jennifer Jenkins anticipates receiving about 5.4 million individual tax returns in Ohio this year. Traditionally, about 25 to 30 percent of the filers send in their returns in the final two weeks of the season.
