MOUNT VERNON — The month of March found blood supplies lower than at other times of the year and below planned quantities for the month, both nationally and in Knox County.
According to the Red Cross, winter weather forced the cancellation of over 425 American Red Cross blood drives, resulting in a shortfall of more than 16,000 blood donations made through the Red Cross.
