FREDERICKTOWN — Knox County Children Services is investigating an alleged incident between a teacher and student at Fredericktown Middle School that took place on March 22.

Due to confidentiality laws, Superintendent Jim Peterson could not release details of the complaint the district received nor would he name any of the individuals allegedly involved.

Peterson said the school district notified Knox County Children Services and the Fredericktown Police Department as soon as administration received a report from the alleged victim.

“The safety and well-being of our students is always our primary concern,” he said. “The district did everything it needed to according to the letter of the law.”

“The investigation of the alleged incident is being conducted by children’s services,” Peterson added, “and we will continue to cooperate with the proper authorities to ensure that our students continue to be educated in a safe and secure learning environment.”
