MOUNT VERNON — A Mount Vernon man awaiting sentencing from Licking County Court of Common Pleas on a charge of soliciting sex from a minor over the Internet is in the Lorain County Jail facing six more counts of the same charge of importuning.

David A. Sparks, 43, while out on bond from Licking County, was arrested by the Knox County Sheriff’s Office at his home on a warrant from Lorain County.

Sparks also faces two counts of disseminating material harmful to juveniles from incidents. The Licking County charges also include two misdemeanor counts of providing materials harmful to a juvenile.

Sparks was taken into custody by Lorain County on April 5.

According to online court records, no hearing date has been set.

He is scheduled to appear in Licking County on May 24, for a plea, sentencing and sexual predator determination.

Importuning is a fifth-degree felony that carries a sentence of six to 12 months in prison and a $2,500 fine.
