MOUNT VERNON — Personnel matters filled the agenda at the Knox County Educational Service Center board meeting on Wednesday.

Treasurer Heather Darnold told the News on Thursday the board granted the retirement requests of special education teacher Linda Styers, effective after May 31, and of preschool teacher Michelle Lake, effective at the end of the 2012-13 school year. Styers has been with the ESC since 2006 and Lake since 2005. Jolene Kiser was employed as a summer occupational therapy assistant for Mount Vernon City Schools and Mary Lou Herrold will serve as the special education facilitator for MVCS for the 2013-14 school year.
