MOUNT VERNON — The Mount Vernon Fire Department and the Mount Vernon Police Department responded to a bomb threat at Lowe’s on Friday night just after 9 p.m. The store had been evacuated by the time emergency officials arrived.

Fire and police personnel, along with representatives of Lowe’s, searched the building. According to fire chief Chris Menapace, the building was secure.
