MOUNT VERNON — Teamwork, creativity and plenty of artistic talent was the scene Saturday at Pat Catan’s of Mount Vernon for the Iron Crafter competition. Art students from area high schools had the opportunity to compete against other schools in creating an artistic craft display, with limited craft materials, in a timed event, while raising some money in the meantime.
Teams from five area schools entered the competition which was centered around a theme of video games. A coach could intervene with the students during a limited amount of time during the craft making.
Entering the contest were teams from East Knox High School who created “Tarzan’s Jungle,” St. Vincent School who created “Shop ’Til You Drop,” Mount Vernon High School who created “Peach’s Castle,” Clear Fork High School who created “Mario Cart” and Centerburg High School who created “Pac Man.”
