Mount Vernon Police Department Detective Sgt. Robert Morgan told the News that a hand-written note was found in a bathroom stall by a store employee shortly after closing saying that a bomb was in the building. Lowe’s management called the MVPD who responded along with the Mount Vernon Fire Department.

The building was evacuated, and firemen and police officers performed a check of the building but found no evidence of a bomb nor anything else suspicious. All precautionary measures were taken in the building search, and the team members left the building around 10:45 p.m.
