MOUNT VERNON — Greg Cook, Farm Services Agency program technician, is vying for the national Distinguished Service to Agriculture award after receiving the Midwest area award.

The designation was announced by Katie Mills, director of the Knox County FSA, during Tuesday’s April Farmers’ Breakfast.

Cook was recognized first at the state level and then for the Midwest region which includes Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio and Wisconsin. The national award recipient has not yet been named and Cook will receive consideration.
