MOUNT VERNON — The Knox County Safety Council held it’s annual meeting Wednesday and awarded three scholarships to local graduating seniors in addition to presenting awards to 36 local businesses. Following breakfast at the Glenn A. Gallagher Centre, council members were entertained by professional comedian Kay Frances.

East Knox High School senior Olivia Buckingham received her award from Scott Mast of Movers & Shuckers. Buckingham plans to attend Wright State University.

Donna Baker of Shannon Staffing presented the scholarship award to Hadleigh Rundell, Mount Vernon High School. Rundell plans to attend the University of Mount Union.

Anna Wolford of Centerburg High School will attend Taylor University. Her award was presented by Cindy Wamsley of FT Precision.
