MOUNT VERNON — Are you smarter than a 12th grader?

That would have been Jeff Foxworthy’s opening question if he had been at the Public Library of Mount Vernon & Knox County Wednesday night when three adult quartets challenged the Mount Vernon High School “In the Know” team.

And the answer? Not quite.

For two decades, the library has hosted students and adults from the community for a friendly competition to mark National Library Week. Over the years, wins and losses have been traded back and forth with regularity. But for the first time in the memory of faculty advisor Rob Fetters and library director John Chidester, the students swept all three rounds.
