CENTERBURG — A modular home at 2621 Larimore Road was fully engulfed in fire when firefighters from Central Ohio Joint Fire District responded just before noon on Thursday.
David Gilbreath, 73, and his wife Martha, 66, were flown to Ohio State University Medical Center.
David is listed in serious condition after suffering smoke inhalation.
Martha in critical condition today with second and third degree burns.
Two cars parked close to the dwelling were also destroyed, Chief Joe Porter told the News.
Mutual aid was provided by Mount Vernon Fire, Utica, Hartford Township and Bladensburg fire departments including equipment and manpower.
Knox County Sheriff’s deputies and detectives are investigating the fire. Chief Porter called for the Ohio State Fire Marshall to also conduct an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
