MOUNT VERNON — Details on projected district funding for 2014 in the Ohio House of Representatives was discussed Monday afternoon when District 68 Rep. Margaret Ann Ruhl met with the Knox County Board of Commissioners. Ruhl shared items that are currently included in the proposed budget plus those which have been taken out. She also heard further recommendations and suggestions from the commissioners.

“We incorporated some of what the governor wanted us to do. We just didn’t take the whole package,” said Ruhl.

The Ohio income tax rate in the proposed budget has been reduced to 7 percent. This would be a permanent decrease if approved and would take effect instantly rather than over a period of time.
