MOUNT VERNON — It’s official — William “Bill” Seder Jr. is the new superintendent of Mount Vernon City Schools. The school board met in a special session on Monday and passed a formal resolution employing Seder, effective July 1 and ending July 31, 2016. It also approved compensation on a per diem basis for the time he will work with the current superintendent in June to facilitate the transition. Seder’s annual salary will be $120,000.
“I am honored to be able to serve Mount Vernon,” Seder told the board. “The excitement has begun to build and I plan to carry on the good work you’ve been doing and make the district even better. One of my goals is to make the community proud of us.”
