DANVILLE — Combining cultures can sometimes be a difficult thing, but the Doug and Betty Severns family and German exchange student Lisa Wendler have bridged the gap and successfully melded into a single unit.
“Lisa has really blended into our family,” said Betty. “Having a third daughter has been great.”
Lisa likes the Severnses and thinks they are a really good family. With just an older brother at home in Germany, she has enjoyed having two sisters, Megan and Emily Severns. “It’s just better,” Lisa said.
Meagan and Emily agreed and said having a German sister is fun, and Doug jokingly said it was nice to have someone else to do dishes.
