In a meeting held last week, Emmert said that Mount Vernon Chief Chris Menapace proposed three options. In the first option, the Mount Vernon Department would provide staff for the stations at Gambier and in Monroe Township. That option, though, appears to be cost prohibitive.

In the second option, the Gambier station would be operated with three career paramedic firefighters and the Monroe station would be closed. The township would be serviced from the Gambier Station and the city.
