MOUNT VERNON — Voters in Brown Township, Martinsburg and Eastern Knox County Joint Fire District were supportive of levy requests on Tuesday.

Brown Township voters want to maintain their roads and bridges and voted almost 3 to 1 Tuesday to continue paying a 3-mill levy for that purpose. Replacement of the Brown Township road and bridge levy means the township will be able to continue to patch and resurface a few roads each year.

“That’s awesome,” said Trustee Brian Durbin on hearing the results. “It means we can keep the projects we want to do this year.
