DANVILLE — The Danville Board of Education concentrated on personnel matters when in met in special session Monday, treasurer Mary Payne told the News.

The board hired Cynthia Durbin as high school guidance counselor, Alyssa Swinehart as vocational agriculture teacher and Matthew Proper as elementary math/science teacher. Proper was also approved as girls varsity basketball coach for the 2013-14 school year, and extended days were granted for Durbin and Swinehart. Also employed were Josh Middleton, middle school English, and Cody Straub, business education/computer technology.

No further action was taken.

The next regular meeting of the Danville school board will be at 7 p.m. on Monday, May 20.
