McCann, one of the organizing members of the Lucy Knox Chapter, was nominated for the office by the local chapter and elected by delegates from all Ohio chapters at the recent state conference. Currently regent-elect, she will officially assume the duties in July following the DAR Continental Conference in Washington, D.C. During her three-year term, she will guide state chapters in their goals of supporting education, historic preservation and promoting patriotism. She will also represent Ohio at the six national conferences each year.
