MOUNT VERNON — Automatic federal spending cuts went into effect this year as part the Budget Control Act which President Barack Obama signed into law in August 2011. Among the $85 billion cuts for 2013, Head Start programs across the country, including Knox County Head Start, are responding to the cuts.
Knox County Head Start Executive Director Peg Tazewell explained the impact on their program, including the elimination of three to five positions next year.
