GAMBIER — Kenyon College held its 185 commencement Saturday with New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg delivering the commencement address where he encouraged the students to commence their lives courageously.

“Live courageously, take risks, and take charge,” said Bloomberg

In his speech, Bloomberg told the students that their measure of success will be reflected in the obstacles they overcome.

As examples, he cited some Kenyon “obstacles,” like overcoming swine flu, the closing of Middle Ground, and power black-outs — events that were meaningful during the students’ term at school.
