Larry and Tracy Maynard, Columbus, were released from the Franklin County Jail Tuesday on $500 bond each after being charged with assault and domestic violence in connection with allegations they physically abused Sarah.

According to court documents, the case against Tracy Maynard alleges she caused physical harm “by means of kicking her down stairs” on or about May 8.

Documents in Larry Maynard’s case allege he was “punching her in the back” on or about May 3.

The couple was charged with one count each of domestic violence and assault. Both entered not guilty pleas in the first-degree misdemeanor charges.

As part of their bond requirements, they must stay away from Sarah, commit no further acts of violence and are not permitted to possess a firearm.

A deputy with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office investigated the allegations.

Sarah and her stepsiblings are staying with a family member, according to authorities. She went to live with her father and stepmother after her mother and brother were killed in Apple Valley in 2010.

No further court dates have been scheduled.
