  • Knox County residents on the food assistance program at Jobs & Family Services are putting their efforts into motion through the work experience program at Opportunity Knox. Work hours earning credit with the program are currently being earned in a community garden as well as through the construction of tier gardens. Pictured is Clonie Angle constructing one of the four-level garden tiers which are being made available to the public. These are being sold as they are made available and can be purchased by calling 399-3636. Another local benefit is the community garden where program workers have been working since March. Food grown in the garden goes toward local food pantries and homeless shelters. Other jobs where program workers are involved include grounds keeping, janitorial service and delivering voting machines. style=
