The festivities were started with the parade, which included many veterans, children groups and the Eastern Knox County Joint Fire District. After the parade, the locals gathered at Memorial Park, where speaker Virginia Quinn addressed the crowd, which included veterans, community members and the Danville High School marching band.

Rain was falling on the ground during both events, but Quinn said she was pleased with the amount of people who came out to show support for the veterans on this special day.

Quinn also took the time to mention some important people in her life who have served the country and she has vowed to never forget them.
