MOUNT VERNON — City officials met again this week with Monroe/College Township and Gambier representatives about the future of fire protection and the possibility of Mount Vernon taking over that role, Mayor Richard Mavis reported.

No decisions have been made, but the process is ongoing, he said.

“We’re trying to look at the big picture and what makes sense for the future,” he added.
