UTICA — Names are being accepted for one individual to fill a vacant council seat on Utica Village Council. Utica Mayor Lester Grennell announced the resignation of John Davison when council met Monday evening at town hall. Davison had submitted his resignation effective May 31 as he is moving out of the village.

“He did a fantastic job while he was here,” said Grennell of Davison’s service on Village Council. “I thanked him for his service and wished him the best of luck from all of us.” Davison’s term on council expires Dec. 31 this year. Grennell urged interested candidates to send a letter to him at the mayor’s office. The successful candidate to fill the rest of this term will be appointed by council and Mayor Grennell.
