According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Zachary Bailey, 23, Bradford, was traveling westbound on Yauger Road and went off the left side of the road, overcorrected, drove off the right side of the road, went airborne and struck a tree near the entrance to Wolf Run Regional Park. Bailey was wearing a seat belt; his passenger, Benjamin Brown, 25, Mount Vernon, was not.

Both men were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident by Knox County Coroner Investigator Cliff Ruggles. The incident remains under investigation, but OSHP believes alcohol is a contributing factor in the one-car crash which happened at about 11:23 p.m. Yauger Road was closed to traffic while the scene was investigated.
