In another move, Capt. George Hartz said Sgt. Roger Monroe will be the new administrative supervisor, beginning his new duties today. Among other duties, the administrative supervisor helps manage the impound lot and cruiser videos and makes sure officers get required paperwork filed.

McKnight said he was happy about the promotion and, having been with the department 15 1/2 years, “becoming a sergeant is something I’ve always wanted to do.”

He also said he’s looking forward to working with Theibert.

“I was his Field Training Officer and he’ll be a good supervisor.”

Theibert said he is “proud to represent the police department to the best of my ability. I’m looking forward to the new challenges and working with a good group of guys. I can’t wait to get back to work.”
