MOUNT VERNON — Stephen Zingarelli, a former Kenyon student who was acquitted in June of rape and gross sexual imposition charges, has filed a lawsuit against Kenyon College, the woman who accused him of rape and a student “Sexual Misconduct Advisor.” The suit was filed Thursday in Knox County Common Pleas Court by attorneys Gregory O’Brien and Eric J. Weiss of Cleveland.

Zingarelli, 22, a native of Mars, Pa., and Grace S. Gardner of Greenwich, Ct., were both seniors at Kenyon when Gardner accused him of sexual assault in December.

He was subsequently acquitted in June following a trail in front of Judge Otho Eyster.
