MOUNT VERNON — For those interested in getting their amateur radio license, free classes to prepare for the entry-level Technician Class License exam are being offered by the Mount Vernon Amateur Radio Club.
Classes will be held every Thursday evening from 7 to 9, beginning Jan. 20 through March 3 at the American Red Cross, 300 N. Mulberry St., Mount Vernon, in the Training Center Annex behind the main building. Morse Code is no longer required.
Preregistration is not required, just attend the first class.
The technician class license exam will be held Saturday, March 5, at 10 a.m. at the American Red Cross Training Center Annex. There is an exam fee.
