GAMBIER — Emily Saliers, one half of the folk-rock duo Indigo Girls, will perform and lecture at Kenyon College with her father, Don Saliers, on Tuesday, Feb. 1.

“A Conversation with Emily Saliers and Don Saliers” is at 11:10 a.m. in the Peirce Hall Lounge, 201 College-Park St. Their performance, called “Saturday Night and Sunday Morning,” is at 7:30 p.m. in the Brandi Recital Hall in Storer Hall, 105 College Drive. Both events are free.

The Saliers co-wrote the book “A Song to Sing, A Life to Live: Reflections on Music as Spiritual Practice.” Publishers Weekly called it a “warmly personal book about the healing power of music.” Emily Saliers formed the Indigo Girls with Amy Ray more than 20 years ago. Don Saliers is a professor emeritus at the Candler School of Theology at Emory University and a church musician.

The Indigo Girls won a Grammy award in 1990 for best contemporary folk album for their album Indigo Girls. They have released 13 studio and four live albums.
