MOUNT VERNON — “Sounds Good: Auditory Integration Training” is the topic for the Brown Bag Chat on Wednesday at noon at the Public Library of Mount Vernon and Knox County, 201 N. Mulberry St., Mount Vernon.
Digital Auditory Aerobics is a sound-based therapy. Results are achieved by using electronically altered music and a specially designed device that filters harmful frequencies.
DAA was developed by Dr. Guy Berard, an ear-nose-throat physician in France. He discovered that learning-related skills and abilities, such as attentive learning, concentration, and memory skills would improve following his program.
The presentation will be led by Joanne Snow, M.Ed., a certified DAA practitioner. She has spent over 30 years in teaching, much of it in special education. She set up her Auditory Integration Therapy practice with the help of Annabel Stehli, author of “Sound of a Miracle: A Child’s Triumph over Autism.”
The Brown Bag Chats, sponsored by the Adult Services Department of the public library, are free and open to the public. Participants are invited to bring a bag lunch; beverages will be provided.
