MOUNT VERNON — Area residents are invited to come explore their family roots on Saturday at the Mount Vernon Public Library on Mulberry Street.
Starting at 1 p.m., the local chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution and friends will present an introductory session on family trees and research techniques. After the two-hour general session there will be time to ask specific family questions and talk about one’s family history.
Topics to be covered include Internet search strategies, web resources, creating electronic images, cemetery tips, accessing service records, family reunions, library services, and introduction to genealogical societies.
