MOUNT VERNON — A Civil War Ball will be Saturday from 7 to 10 p.m. at Memorial Building, 112 E. High St., Mount Vernon.
The Gen. Henry Banning Camp of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War are sponsoring the ball, which will include music and dances from the 1860s. Pocket Full O’Gimmick will provide the music for the ball, while Elizabeth Reeb will call the dances.
There will be reels, waltzes and other dances from the 1860s. The caller will walk dancers through each dance prior to the start of the music. There will be light refreshments and there is a price for admission.
Civil War period clothing is encouraged, but is not required.
