MOUNT VERNON — The 2nd Annual Candidate Chili Cook Off, sponsored by the Knox County Democratic Party, will be Thursday, March 31, at 6:30 p.m. in the Gambier Community Center, 115 Meadow Lane, Gambier. Greg Schultz, the Ohio Director for Organizing for America and chairman of the Franklin County Democratic Party, will be the featured speaker.
Also in attendance will be 2011 candidates for offices in Mount Vernon. These include incumbent city councilwoman Rebecca Jordan (at large) as well as new candidates for council Sam Barone (1st Ward), Adam Gilson (at large), Susan Kahrl (at large), Holli Kendall (2nd Ward) and incumbent city councilman John Fair (4th Ward) who is running unopposed.
