MOUNT VERNON — Earle Bruce, best known for being the head coach of the Ohio State University football program for nine years, will headline the Chamber of Commerce Safety Council breakfast this year. Bruce will present “A Winning Attitude” to members of the Safety Council and the public on Wednesday, April 20, at 7:30 a.m. at the Glenn A. Gallagher Centre, Gambier Road, Mount Vernon.
Bruce compiled an 81-26-1 record during his tenure at Ohio State as the head coach. He assisted the legendary Woody Hayes in 1968 when the Buckeyes won the national championship. Bruce has been named Coach of the Year, won four postseason all-star bowl games, and was nominated into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2003.
