MOUNT VERNON — The Mount Vernon Player’s announce the audition dates for their upcoming summer comedy “The Odd Couple.”
Auditions will be held Sunday and Monday at 7 p.m. at Madcap’s, 206 S. Main St. in downtown Mount Vernon. The play calls for six men and two women. The men are Felix Unger, Oscar Madison and four of their poker playing buddies all between the ages of 35 and 50. The two women are the cockney Pigeon sisters, high on sexuality and low on intellect, ages between 28 and 40.
Come prepared for a cold read but if anyone has an audition piece ready they can certainly use it. The show goes up the first week in August. After the play is cast there will be one read through and then rehearsals will start roughly mid-June.
The play is under the direction of Daniel P. Turner. Anyone interested in stage managing, helping with props or costumes and or helping with building the set are encouraged to come to the auditions.
