CENTERBURG — Centerburg United Methodist Church and Grace Lutheran Church will join together on Sunday at 7 a.m. at Community Memorial Park at the corner of U.S. 36/Ohio 3 and Ohio 314 (Johnsville Road) for a joint sunrise service. There will be special music and Mary Magdalene will pay a visit. The community is invited.
The community is also invited to breakfast at Grace Lutheran Church, 182 W. Houck St., Centerburg, at 8 a.m. The breakfast will be followed by an Easter egg hunt at 9:30 a.m. Any children who would like to hunt for eggs can call the church office at 625-6341 by today. Morning worship will follow at 10:30 a.m.
The Centerburg United Methodist Chancel Choir will present its Easter cantata during the 10 a.m. worship on Easter. “The Walk of Love” tells the story of Jesus’ death and resurrection using several different styles of music. It includes some of the choir’s favorite pieces of music from past cantatas, compiled by director Susie Oswalt. Dallas Holm, Joseph M. Martin, John Peterson, Lani Smith and Lanny Wolfe are the composers. Soloists include Jim Oswalt, Rachel Hartong, Shaun Hartong, Joan Mahan, Dianne Moreland and Gayle Oberlitner. The church is at the corner of Hartford Avenue and Church Street.
CUMC will also have an Easter egg hunt for the children immediately following the service, at approximately 11 a.m.
