CENTERBURG — The Heart of Ohio 43011 Spring Fling on Saturday begins at 2 p.m. at the Centerburg Elementary School. This came about due to the date of April 30, 2011, also being the ZIP code for Centerburg. Prize-winning posters of the poster contest held for all grades of the Centerburg Schools are being displayed all over town.
Rebel Wind will provide music all afternoon and a Spring Fling dance will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. This is for all ages to attend.
Bingo will be conducted, there will be games and bounce house for the kids, and a large variety of booths representing various businesses, organizations and individuals will offer services, door prizes, giveaway items and merchandise for sale. Food vendors will also be on site and the Oldtime Farming Festival will be selling root beer.
A pet parade will be held at 4 p.m. for adults and kids alike. Judging will be for categories such as cutest, ugliest, biggest, smallest, etc. A large gift basket will be the grand prize for the winner.
The Centerburg Post Office will have a special postcard, stamp and cancellation commemorating the event for sale. A photo contest is being held for youth and adult for photos which best represent 43011. These need to be 8-by-11 and submitted to Picture Perfect and Imaging during regular business hours up until Friday at 6 p.m. The pictures will be displayed at the event and the public will vote for the winner.
