MOUNT VERNON — Seniors in Mount Vernon Nazarene University’s Graphic Design Department will present a portfolio show in the Schnormeier Gallery in downtown Mount Vernon through Saturday. A reception will be held on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m.
This exhibit comes as a culmination of a year’s worth of work for the five senior graphic design majors. Hannah Lucas, from Upper Sandusky, is interested in photography and freelance design. Drew Luster is from Shelby and hopes to work in a design firm. Nico Felizzola, from Buenos Aires, Argentina, is interested in branding, web design and advertising (www.openboxesdesign.com). Nathan Parker, from Howard, is focused on animation and illustration. Carly Haas is from Mount Vernon and will be teaching English in South Korea after graduation.
“The senior graphic design show features the professional portfolios of graduating graphic design majors. The portfolios showcase their best work in a range of approaches,” said graphic design professor Jan Hendrickx. “Seniors use these portfolios to apply for jobs as designers. The portfolio is a constantly growing and changing collection, as designers use it to collect their best work throughout their careers.”
