MOUNT VERNON — Mount Vernon Nazarene University’s concert choir, Collegians Chorale, will be in concert Tuesday in the R.R. Hodges Chapel/Auditorium at 8 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public.
The Chorale will share portions of its spring church tour program including “Now Shout” by Kemner, Black’s arrangement of “O, the Deep, Deep Love of Jesus,” Beck’s “Song of Exaltation,” “O Sifuni Mungu” (with a surprise introduction from “The Lion King”), Hogan’s “Battle of Jericho” and Hassell’s “Jesus Loves Me.” Influenced by a Spanish/English bilingual service this spring, the choir will share “Esto Les Digo” by Lange and “Lord, I Believe in You,” arranged by Carol Cymbala. The Chorale has also been impacted by the music of Eric Whitacre and will perform his “Sleep” and “Animal Crackers.”
During the concert, members of Collegians will share briefly about its mission/concert trip to Europe last summer while a photo slide presentation plays during the song of commitment, “Here I Am, Lord.”
