MARTINSBURG — The farmers market in Mount Vernon isn’t the only one opening Saturday. The village of Martinsburg will have its first market from 8 a.m. to noon at J&D Arena on U.S. 62 east of town.
“We have five or six vendors signed up,” said Cindy Tuttle, treasurer of the village’s Parks and Recreation Committee. “I know we have people selling crafts, soaps and baked goods and we have room for more.”
Markets will also be held from 3 to 7 p.m. on Tuesdays beginning May 10. The markets will continue through Oct. 8.
For information on renting space at the market, call Nancy Stuerer at 276-233-4482.
Proceeds will benefit Martinsburg Parks and Recreation.
Tuttle said this is also a registered “Ohio Proud” event with the Ohio Department of Agriculture which means all items are Ohio grown or made.
