MOUNT VERNON — A Patriotic Church Service in Scripture and in Song, honoring heroes, and supporting troops and all veterans — past, present and future — will be held Sunday, May 22, at 9 a.m. at the Ebenezer United Methodist Church.
Songs will include some from the Revolutionary War era, Civil War, World War I, World War II and the period since then. Everyone is invited to come and hear Alisha McDonald sing “God Bless the USA”; a variety of patriotic songs by the volunteer choir, accompanied by a retired highway patrol major Steve Raubenolt, who will conclude the musical presentation with “God Bless America.”
This service is to celebrate Armed Forces Day, which is May 21, and Memorial Day on May 30. All veterans and their families are invited. The church is on Ebenezer Hill on Ohio 3, four miles north of Mount Vernon.
