MOUNT VERNON — For His Glory, an Ohio Intergenerational Camp Meeting, will be held at Mount Vernon Academy, 525 Wooster Road, Mount Vernon, June 12 through 18, with concerts kicking off and closing the camp.
The first concert, featuring The Gospel Echoes, will be Sunday, June 12, at 7:45 p.m. in the MVA cafeteria building. The Gospel Echoes are a gospel music quartet based out of Akron, which travels through Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Michigan and Kentucky.
For His Glory (The Walker Family) will close the camp meeting June 18 at 8 p.m. in the MVA gymnasium. The Walker Family is from Groveport and the group of five (ages 14-20) perform at various churches, festivals, community gatherings and many other venues. A bluegrass group since 2006, none of the young members had had any lessons on the instruments they play. They consider their music a ministry.
The concerts are free and open to the public, though a love offering will be taken at each concert to help cover travel expenses. For more information about the camp meeting go to www.ohioadventist.org.
