MOUNT VERNON — J. Kenneth Smail, professor emeritus of anthropology at Kenyon College, will be the featured speaker at the Knox County Democratic Women’s meeting on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Buckeye Room at Emeritus at HillenVale on Yauger Road in Mount Vernon.
Smail will speak on “Confronting a World of Finite Limits: Critical Challenges for the 21st Century.” He will be addressing the issue of anticipated record population growth that will place extreme pressure on modern technological civilization’s ability to keep up with the resulting global environmental, economic, political and social upheaval that will result.
