DANVILLE -- Danville Area Senior Citizens will be serving a traditional turkey dinner on Thursday, Nov. 17, at noon at St. Luke Community Center.
Women from St. Luke Catholic Church will prepare and serve turkey, dressing with gravy, sweet potatoes, Harvard beets, cranberry salad or applesauce, rolls, pie and beverage. There is a suggested donation for lunch; reservations due by Monday. Make reservations early as reservations may be limited. Signature Health Services will be available from 11 to 11:45 a.m. offering free blood pressure screenings. No appointment -- just walk in.
Following lunch, Elizabeth Haley, local artist who works with stained glass, will be demonstrating her techniques and sharing some of her stained glass art. Haley has her own studio in Mount Vernon and has been working primarily with stained glass but does do some clay sculpture. Her experience spans over a 30-year period. She was an instructor in the art department at Mount Vernon Nazarene University for five years. She is a former member and past president of the Knox County Art Guild.
Danville Area Senior Citizens is open to all individuals living within the East Knox and Danville School districts.
